The SilverStone SST-ECM25 V2 is a versatile PCIe x4 M.2 adapter card that allows you to convert one M.2 port (M key) into a PCIe x4 interface for high-speed SSDs. With a compact design that easily fits in 1U chassis, built-in LED indicator for PCIe NVMe status, and support for various M.2 SSD lengths (2230, 2242, 2260, 2280), this adapter card is perfect for upgrading your system for gaming or professional use. Ensure compatibility with your system/motherboard before pairing with your SilverStone product. The adapter card supports three types of M.2 SSDs: SATA (B key) for SATA SSDs, PCI Express using AHCI (M key) for PCI Express SSDs with AHCI driver, and PCI Express using NVMe (M key) for high-performance SSDs with NVMe driver. The PCIe CLKREQ function (V2.0) ensures optimal performance for your SSDs. Model No. SST-ECM25 Interface: PCI Express x4 SSD Interface: M.2 (NGFF) Support Length of M.2 SSD: 30mm, 42mm, 60mm, 80mm Module Key: PCIe x4 NVMe-based M key LED indicator: PCIe M.2 SSD Read / Write LED (Blue blinking) Dimension: 32mm (W) x 6mm (H) x 100mm (D) Net weight: 11.5g Please note that if you wish to boot off using M.2 SSD, your motherboard needs to support it. Consult your motherboard manual or vendor for details on enabling this function. M.2 PCIe-NVMe mode SSD requires Intel® 9 series (Z97 H97 Z170 X99) / AMD 300 series (A320 B350 X370) or higher chipset motherboard with Windows 8 or higher operating system. Upgrade your system now with the SilverStone SST-ECM25 V2 PCIe x4 M.2 adapter card for enhanced performance and speed.

  • Converts one M.2 port (M key) into one PCIe x4 interface
  • Only 32mm tall when installed, easily fits in 1U chassis
  • Built-in LED indicator for showing PCIe NVMe status
  • Supports 2230,2242,2260 and 2280 length M.2 SSD
  • PCIe CLKREQ function (V2.0)

There are three types of M.2 SSDs, please make sure you know the difference between them and whether your system/motherboard support them before pairing these with your SilverStone product.

SATA (B key)
Used for SATA SSDs, and interfaced through the AHCI driver and SATA 3.0 (6 Gbit/s) port exposed through the M.2 connector.

PCI Express using AHCI (M key) only support to install this type
Used for PCI Express SSDs and interfaced through the AHCI driver and provided PCI Express lanes, providing backward compatibility with widespread SATA support in operating systems at the cost of not delivering optimal performance by using AHCI for accessing PCI Express SSDs.

PCI Express using NVMe (M key) only support to install this type
Used for PCI Express SSDs and interfaced through the NVMe driver and provided PCI Express lanes, as a high-performance and scalable host controller interface designed and optimized especially for interfacing with PCI Express SSDs. NVMe has been designed from the ground up, capitalizing on the low latency and parallelism of PCI Express SSDs, and complementing the parallelism of contemporary CPUs, platforms and applications.
